Adoption Agreement

The
following constitutes an adoption contract between Cade
Cannon-Dager/Hollywood Rattery, hereinafter referred to as the current
owner and ____________________________, hereinafter referred to as the adopter,
hereby agreeing that the rat(s) described on this contract is being given to or
purchased by the adopter solely as a pet for themselves and/or their immediate
family. The adopter will not sell,
give away, set free or otherwise dispose of said animal to any person, pet
store, dealer, auction, institution or any other entity, nor will he/she abandon
said animal for any reason. At no
time will the adopter sell or give said rat to any breeding farm, or similar
organization engaged in the utilization of rats as food for other animals or
sale for commercial profit, nor to any individual or entity engaged in research.
If
at a later date the adopter is unable or unwilling to keep said rat, he/she
agrees to first contact the above described current owner and give them the
option to reclaim it at no charge. If
the current owner is unable or unwilling to reclaim said animal, the adopter
will place the rat privately as a pet.
The
adopter hereby agrees to care for the described rat(s) in a humane and
responsible manner and to provide it with clean and adequate shelter, food,
water and veterinary care. The
adopter also agrees to supervise small children and other animals around the
rat(s) and is expected not to place the rat(s) in a situation where they could
cause harm to it. The
described rat is sold first and foremost as a companion animal and family member
and is to be treated as such. Additionally,
the adopter agrees to meet all special needs and/or requirements of the
adopted/purchased animal(s) indicated herein.
In
the event that the adopter wishes to show and/or breed said animal, he/she
agrees to use the prefix HR in the naming, showing and breeding of said animal.
PET ONLY
CONTRACT - may not be bred without current owner's consent along with an
additional fee of up to $50. IF, for any reason, the animal becomes pregnant,
adopter will notify the current owner immediately. Breeding this animal
intentionally without the written permission of the current owner is strictly
forbidden. In the event the animal is intentionally bred without written
permission, current owner reserves the right to reclaim the animal and/or its
offspring (to be delivered to current owner by adopter at adopter's expense)
and/or take legal action against adopter. In the event current owner has to take
legal action, all related court costs, legal fees, filing fees, attorney's fees,
etc. incurred by current owner will be paid by adopter as well as any rewards,
financial or otherwise, from the court.
SHOW/BREEDING
CONTRACT - this animal is sold with a full breeding contract and is sold as a
pet/show breeder only. This animal, its offspring and future generations will
not be sold as food or bred with the intention of producing food for any other
animal. In the event it is discovered that the adopter is using this animal or
its offspring as food for reptiles or any other animal, current owner reserves
the right to reclaim the animal and/or its offspring (to be delivered to current
owner by adopter at adopter's expense) and/or take legal action against adopter.
In the event current owner has to take legal action, all related court costs,
legal fees, filing fees, attorney's fees, etc. incurred by current owner will be
paid by adopter as well as any rewards, financial or otherwise, from the court.
OLDER FEMALE - pet has not been bred and is at least 7 months or older.
She is not to be bred due to possible labor complications. If pet
becomes pregnant due to unfortunate accident, the above described current owner
will be notified immediately.
The
adopter agrees that the current owner has the right to confiscate said rat(s) in
the event that the adopter disagrees with any or all of the statements made
herein, and/or the check for the adoption fee is returned due to insufficient
funds.
Health Guarantee
To
the best of the current owners knowledge, this rat is free of any illness or
contagious disease. The adopter is
responsible for quarantine of said rat for fourteen (14) days after taking
possession of it. If the rat
develops any illness or contagious disease within this time period, the adopter
has the privilege of returning the rat to the current owner for a refund or a
credit towards another rat. Any
illness or contagious disease that occurs after this time period is the full
responsibility of the adopter.
No
other warranties, expressed or implied, about said rat(s) health or temperament
are made under this contract and the current owner is hereby absolved from any
liability for future damages and/or injuries caused by said animal.
